Hey Su, just wanted to send you a quick message to say thank you for all the tutoring you did with Sarah. She said she really enjoyed the tutoring sessions and that you explained things really well. You have a unique ability to explain concepts in many different ways to ensure that the student understands the concepts.

Hello, Teacher Yang,
I wanted to share some good news with you. Brian has been accepted into the IB program at St. Robert, which is currently the best IB school in the public school system in Ontario. Previously, he also got accepted into the IB program at Maple High School. Thank you for your ongoing support for Ella and Brian. They really like your class.

My son got the highest score in his school for the 2022 Gauss Contest. Thank you again for your teaching.
Pinjiang (G8 math semi private)
Thank you! Michael is very excited and said that he didn't even expect this lesson to be so much fun!
Darina (G4 math)
Su, thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to hear that my daughter is doing well in the assessment. My daughter really likes your class. I think it's because that you not only teach students math, but also share your insights on work ethic with the students to motivate them to work hard.

This Summer, both my son and I joined Su's parent & child reading class. It was a very fruitful experience. My son read "Animal Farm" when he was in grade 4/5. He only read it as an interesting story, as he couldn't think deeply about the book because of the lack of background knowledge. It was great that Su picked this story. It's a well-structured class with exercise on vocabularies, questions and answers and some writing. As it's a class for parents too, I had thought that it's a lot of work and would be challenging for me. It turned out that it's fun and we all looked forward to our class every week. During the class, adults also shared our life experience in connection with the book. We were so happy to have the opportunity to share our stories and thoughts with each other and our kids. At dinner time, our family sometimes chat about topics like the difference between China and Canada, American Election..., I would relate reality with the stories in Animal Farm. Even after the class, my son often takes the book out and discusses some of the scenes in the book. Su's reading class brought me and my son closer as we have so much to talk about.
Julia (Summer Reading Class - Animal Farm)
My kid and I attended Su's reading class this summer and we read "Animal Farm" together. My goal was to increase the quality time and develop deeper connection with my kid. Animal farm deals with political systems and human natures, the topics that we don't usually talk about at home. This class gave us this opportunity to discuss such topics. Su was well prepared for each class. Through the discussion with other students and adults, I could see that my kid has developed deeper and fuller understanding of things. There was lots of new vocabulary in the book. It was fun that my kid and I tried to guess their meaning from the context and looked them up in dictionaries. My kid was really looking forward to the class and even supervising me to do my homework every week. It was such an interesting and meaningful experience.

Su, thank you for your patience and guidance, Winston has made great progress in math over last a few months. We hope to do long term tutoring with you.
Ruina (G8 math)
To be honest, my son does not focus easily. But he really likes Su’s class. I suppose that Su makes math concepts easy for him to understand, which helps to capture his attention and let him learn.

My daughter told me that her math teacher at school reviewed G9 math today. She noticed that the teacher made a mistake in explaining one of the concepts. She stood up and discussed with the teacher for 10 minutes and convinced the teacher that her understanding is correct. I’m so happy to see that she truly mastered what she learned from your class. And she gained the confidence to discuss with her teacher.

My daughter just loves the way you teach.
Yee (G11 math and Physics)
Thank you for your great teaching. My daughter told me that you are an excellent teacher. A couple of times, we had to cancel the lessons last minute and you were totally fine with that. Not every teacher has a big heart like you.
Zoe (G11 Math)
Su explains concepts very well. I can accomplish more in one hour working with Su than from three weeks of learning in my math class.

My second daughter is in grade 7 this year. Her school math is not bad. But her best friends are all excellent in math. So she would like to improve her math further. She attended a well known math teacher's after school math class, but she did not feel it was a good match for her. Three weeks ago, she stared the G7&8 math club with Su. Right after the first class, she told me that Su's class is interesting. I thought that maybe her passion will fade. After two more weeks, she still told me that " Su's class is really great. I love it. Su gives students an opportunity to think and discuss before she explains the answer. She also encourages students to explore different ways to solve a problem." I'm glad to hear her thoughts. She has a clear idea of what suits her. I believe that the best class for her is the one that she finds interesting.
Bo L. (G7&8 Math Club)
My son was so happy coming home after you G9 math class, saying that you explained every concept very well, better than his math teachers from school and he has completed Unit 1 with you. We are also so happy to see him feeling confident after your class. Thank you for your help. Wish you all the best.
Wendy L. (G9 Math Club)
I really like your class. I wish it could be longer!
Lucas L. (G3&4 Math Club)
My daughter likes your Math Club very much. She loves the math tricks you taught and has fun doing your math questions.
Sufen D. (G5&6 Math Club)
Congratulations on your successful opening of the G5&6 Math Club. I heard from several students that they really liked your class.
Howard C. (G5&6 Math Club)
Su has been tutoring me in both Calculus and Vectors as well as Advanced Functions. I am so grateful to have a wonderful tutor who always explains difficult topics with a positive attitude. She also always encourages me to challenge myself by exploring more difficult problems. I am now more confident in my math skills because of her endless support and patience!
Jocelyn T. (G12 Calculus and Vectors & Advanced Functions)
Su has been tutoring my son in high school G11 Physics since early summer 2017. The class with Su has given him a very good head start in his G11 Physics study and has built up his confidence in getting better scores in school. Su is very knowledgeable in Physics. She clearly explained concepts and makes the difficult theories easier to understand. In addition to the excellent teaching, she shares her opinions on my son's future career path and brings positive energy into discussions. She is always friendly, punctual and organized. Su is definitely an A+ teacher!
May G. (G11 Physics)
Su is a great teacher who explains difficult concepts so that they are easy to understand. She is very encouraging and helped me with my confidence along the learning process. In the span of one month, my test scores rose by 20 percent because of her help and encouragement.
Betty M. (G12 Calculus and Vectors)
Hello Su, thank you for the awesome job you continue to do with my boy. I am thrilled because he came home from school today with a confident smile, one like I hadn't seen in a long time. Thank you for everything you do. Keep up the good work!
Robert R. (G11 Physics)
After working with Su for 4 weeks, I score about 10 points more than most of my classmates (most of them have tutors too!)
Julia (G10 Principles of Mathematics)
Su is truly an outstanding tutor! She not only helps with understanding difficult concepts and reviewing questions, she goes the extra mile by creating new problems designed to target them. Her follow-up reports over the week vastly enrichens the learning experience, while her addressing of little-considered aspects of a student's future such as career opportunities and experiences is the topping on the cake.
Michelle S. (G12 Physics)
My name is Daniel and Su is tutoring my daughter on high school physics right now. She is a highly diligent, responsible, knowledgeable and friendly tutor. She is very approachable. Whenever my daughter or I myself have questions, she is always very prompt in responding to us. As a PHD, she has a very deep understanding of physics theory and practice and can answer all the questions that my daughter raises, far beyond what is taught in the textbook. She is very patient and knows how to motivate students and promote their confidence. In addition to teaching physics, Su always shares her opinions and experience with us about the career prospects and interpersonal skills in workplace. My daughter has benefited a lot from her teaching and all my family members enjoy the time that we stay with Su.
Daniel S. (G12 Physics)
I worked with Su when she was a project leader and senior research scientist at Xerox. She was my supervisor for my engineering co-op term. Su and I worked on a complex project and I enjoyed every minute of it. Su is knowledgeable, positive and supportive. She taught me a lot in a short period of time and I still use many of the skills that she taught me several years ago in my current engineering position. I could tell Su enjoyed teaching as she was always eager to answer my questions and happy to see my contributions to the project. Besides learning the technical skills from her, I also enjoyed our conversations on personal growth. Su always has a big smile on her face and she is very approachable. She's made a positive impact on my life and I know she'll be a great tutor and mentor for any student.
